Does anyone listen to Death? Arguably the first death metal band, Death is one of the best metal bands to have existed, though terminated by the death of frontman Chuck Schuldiner in December 2001.

High On Fire - Snakes For The Divine

Excellent album. Matt Pike's sludgy riffage combined with awesome bass and drums fills out very nicely.

Fear Factory - Mechanize

Machine Head style tracks, with Soil styled vocals. Excellent.

Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare

Debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts recently. Mike Portnoy replaces the late Jimmy Sullivan aka The Rev on drums, not as good as their previous releases, but still quite excellent.
